Interesting Gemstones

I have a particular love of Semi-Precious Gemstones, and incorporate some of them in my jewelry.  My collection mainly consists of cabochons which are flat backed and domed.  Usually you will see them set within a bezel, but I do sometimes will use sterling silver wirework to "cage" a particular stone to show off the interesting pictures and patterns made by Nature.  Here are a few made into jewelry and some just to admire on their own.

Dendritic Moss Agate
Dendritic Agate contains visible impurites that are often times to the eye merely miniature portraits of landscapes and trees. This is a flat cabochon that allows light to show through and illuminate the picture for you.
